Position: Pre-Sales Engineer – Cybersecurity

Overview:

I’m recruiting on behalf of a high-trajectory cybersecurity vendor that’s expanding its East Coast footprint and needs a Pre-Sales Engineer who can immediately lift technical win rates. This role is embedded in the core go-to-market motion—driving technical authority, shaping solution strategy, and enabling the sales organization to execute cleanly across government, critical infrastructure, and enterprise accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the technical dimension of the sales cycle end-to-end, from discovery through architecture validation and solution assurance.
  • Deliver high-impact demos, technical briefings, and proofs of value that resonate with public sector and enterprise stakeholders.
  • Map complex cybersecurity requirements into pragmatic, deployment-ready solution architectures.
  • Lead the technical response for RFPs/RFIs, compliance documents, and regulated-procurement submissions.
  • Serve as the operational bridge between product, engineering, and field sales—ensuring technical accuracy and rapid feedback loops.
  • Derisk opportunities by validating integrations, scalability, security controls, and overall operational fit within customer environments.

Requirements:

  • 5–10+ years in cybersecurity pre-sales, solutions engineering, or architecture roles.
  • Proven experience supporting sales cycles into government, utilities, or large enterprise environments.
  • Strong grounding in modern security architectures—zero trust, cloud security, OT/critical infrastructure, and enterprise security frameworks.
  • Ability to influence technical evaluators, business sponsors, and procurement stakeholders across multi-threaded deals.
  • Demonstrated capability building demos, running PoCs, and producing architecture artifacts.
  • Executive-ready communication, operational discipline, and a bias for fast, clean execution.
